Cuadro de texto: FOUNDATIONS OF FEMINIST INTERNATIONAL RADIO ENDEAVOUR MISSION The mission of FIRE-RIF is to provide women with an international communications venue— INTERNET RADIO--which amplifies women’s voices to shift the unequal representation of gender perspectives in radio and new communication technologies. FIRE seeks to validate these contributions by women and other groups who are often excluded from exercising their democratic right of communication, from the leadership and ethics of women, the respect and dignity of people, the recognition of diversity, respect of the environment, human rights and in favor of peace. This radio proposal, which integrates new technologies and women’s perspectives, represents the first such project managed and produced by women of the Global South. FIRE radio includes content from a critical and innovative perspective provided through audio, images and text. This concept of interactive radio is being developed through a creative process by a group of women who are self-directed and have learned through daily experience how to utilize the technological resources to open channels with organizations and networks worldwide, and to create new forms of inclusion and diffusion of information and communication.
