Feminist International Radio Endeavour (FIRE) organized a 12 hour WEBCAST Marathon, dedicated to the global struggles of women against the racism.

The WEBCAST MARATHON included pre-recorded radio programs in Spanish, English, French and other languages,live calls from audience and activists, "in situ" interviews with women from the Latin American and Caribbean Black Women's Network and the Continental Articulation Against Racism and tapes sent to FIRE for re-broadcast, containing spots and/or programs about the issues. It also featured african women speaking about the role of community media in counterracting racism, special programs by black women activists in the USA about racial profiling, activists from the Global Women´s Strike and UNESCO coordinator of the Campaing Women Make News, among others.

Men and women listeners sent us messages and letters via e-mail, which were read live during the Marathon. The marathon ran between 8:00 am and 10:00 p.m. Costa Rica time: first six hours in Spanish, next five hours in English and the last hour in French.

FIRE´s marathon "Full Spectrum Against Racism" had the collaboration of WIN - the Women's Network of AMARC (World Association of Community Radios).It formed part of the "Voices Without Frontiers" Campaign of AMARC, a 24 hour broadcast from South Africa via Internet, Satellite and local radios worldwide on March 21st FIRE hoped to make a contribution alongside other WIN member organizations, so that the voices of women speaking about the theme can be heard in the Campaign. FIRE send some of the programs of Full Spectrum to Voice without Frontiers for re-broadcast that day.
